Alagar Koil

Alagar shrine is constructed with full architecture that completely dedicated to the Lord Vishnu. This temple is located nearly twenty one kilometers from the city of Madurai. This temple beautifully exists above the Alagar hills. Alagar temple is also referred natural beauty of woods. The vaishnava temple is famed for its good-looking sculptures and exquisite ‘Mandapams.’ It is extremely believed seated in the Alagar Kovil from ancient age. According to the Hindu tradition, Lord Vishnu fixed in this place from the heavenly dwelling to afford Goddess Meenakshi who supposed to marry God Sundareswarer.

The foremost deity of this shrine also identified as Paramaswamythe processional idol also called as Alagar or Sundarajan.
