Athirapally water falls in Kerala the best place to visit in summer

The Athirapally water falls in trichur is referred to as the Niagara Falls of India because of its width. Athirapally waterfalls are located 78 kms from Cochin. It is located in the forest area. It has been a day visit option for local tourist. The area is prohibited from using plastics. The local tribal start moving out from this place because of the destruction of forest. The place is used for rubber plantation. The river is polluted by the tourists and also by the agriculture done here.

The water from the falls crashes down from a height of 80 feet. The river is full of rocks and the water flows down the forest. The greenery on both sides is eye catching. It is not recommended to take bath in the falls in the month of June. Winter is the best time to visit this place. You can reach Athirapally from either Cochin or Trissur town. There is a near by railway station at Chalakkudy about 30 kms away from the falls. Cochin International Airport is the nearest airport from this place. There are regular bus services from chalakkudy or else you can take a cab. The rooms here are very comfortable with good lighting and wonderful views of waterfalls. The dinner menu was really awesome. This is an ideal place for honeymooners. The waterfall is so close from the hotel that a person can hear the sound of falling water throughout night. The morning is welcomed by the chirping of birds. Athirapally is a part of sholayur forest ranges. The shooting of movie Raven was done here. Athirapally is the best place to visit in summer holidays.
